About

I am a painter, specializing in bold oil paintings of beautiful women and their gorgeous shoes.

My tumblr is a mix of my artwork, sketches and ideas, alongside pieces of the internet that I want to remember and collect.

I live in Brighton, and have a studio in the Brighton Seafront Artist Quarter.

Visitors to both my blog, and my sunny seaside studio, are always welcome.

I love the look of old large format photos.

I have a 4”x5” Graflex.  I love it, and it takes amazing photos, but it’s a monster.  The image projects backwards on a glass plate and you need a black blanket to block out the light.  I have about 250-300 unprinted negatives hanging out in the archives.
You have film holders that need to be loaded in the dark.  They hold two sheets of film.  Once you frame the photo, you slide in your film holder, slide out the metal screen, expose your film, slide the metal screen back in, and flip it over for another exposure.
The thing with large format photography is it takes a lot of time, commitment, and love.  All things that are in short supply these days. Fuck instagram.

Awesome posts are awesome.
Love the photo. Love all the large format photos. Love the information… and love the ‘fuck instagram’ at the end.
